Hutchins had a temporary population boom as the RAGBRAI riders rode through town on their
way to Clear Lake, the overnight town for Tuesday. The amount of riders on the tour this year is estimated at 15,000.

The North Central Cooperative safety committee put on a brief equipment safety
refresher meeting the morning of July 21st. Clarion employee Steve Chambers (right)
is demonstrating tractor safety.

Students from Costa Rica were guests at the Doug Thompson farm east of
Kanawha on July 20th. Doug described his farming operation and answered
questions from the group. Vern Toohey, Location Manager and Mike Johnson, Agronomist
at North Central Cooperative - Kanawha were also on hand to answer questions
about member owner cooperatives.
In addition to the Thompson farm, the tour was visiting a wide variety of places today,
including a wind farm near Crystal Lake and the campus of Iowa State University.
